Mexico RED

Bringing god's hope and light to dark places.

who we are

Mexico RED is a ministry outreach partnering with like-minded churches to extend God’s Kingdom to the poor and the transient, and bringing God's light to dark places. A critical component for RED in building Relationships, engaging in Evangelism, and developing long-term Discipleship is to reflect a heart to help the needy (The great compassion). Since every person is made in the image of God, how we treat others is in direct relationship to how we treat Jesus ~ Matthew 25:34-40.

our mission

The Zona Norte center, Tijuana mission is to build a long-term, trusting relationship with the community, reach out to educate, feed, and aid children in needy situations, and extend a warm welcome in the name of Jesus.

Mexico RED: Light in Darkness

Bringing hope to children & families

A key ministry focus for Mexico RED is children and their families (often single mothers caught in the web of drug addiction and/or poverty). We have established programs to educate and equip children to overcome their circumstances and help families transition off the streets…

Tijuana - ground zero

Tijuana, Mexico is an area with intense geo-political activities and migrations of people from all over the globe. In addition, Mexico RED’s ministry is situated at the crossroads of drug and trafficking activity which directly impacts children and families, who are often facing issues linked to poverty, drug addiction, prostitution, and migration.  They are often in circumstances of great need and are very receptive to the hope of the Gospel.

Migration

The U.S.-Tijuana border is the busiest, with over 100 nationalities amassing and 6 million annual border crossings - this includes over 102,000 encounters with migrating families.

Poverty

As of 2021, Tijuana has been tagged as among the most dangerous cities in the world with an estimated 100,000 homeless people - 24% of which live in moderate to extreme poverty.

Drugs

$266M+ in drug seizures occur each year at the Tijuana border, marking it as a major drug corridor. It is a cesspool of dealers and users, many having been stuck for years in the cycle of addiction.

Trafficking

Human and sex trafficking is increasing in Mexico border cities, with migrant families, children, and transients from other Latin American countries often left vulnerable to exploitation.
