Mexico RED focuses it's ministry to bring God's hope to dark places

Through biblically-based community outreach, Mexico RED develops long-term relationships meeting felt needs and transitioning children and families out of systemic poverty, drug addiction, and other at-risk circumstances. Undergirding all of our ministry is the foundational commitment to see people transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ who helps them see a greater hope beyond their current circumstances.

Mercy Ministry & Community Outreach

The need for basic subsistence is great along the border of Tijuana, and our Zona Norte Center is a hub of resources for the community. For example, our team reaches over 3500 people per month through our meals and resources program. We depend greatly on the donation of food and resources from church and ministry partners. Education to Equip Kids beyond poverty

Education is a key program at our Zona Norte Community Center for children on the street. Many of these kids who have landed in Tijuana with their migrant families caught stymied at the U.S.-Mexican border lack the proper paperwork needed to enroll in public school. They wander the streets, often unsupervised, being at risk of exploitation. Our center provides a safe place for them to learn, to be loved, and to have hope for a different life. The Gospel is Our Ministry

Over all areas of our ministry is the commitment to evangelism. Our team at Mexico RED does not see a conflict between evangelism and ministry that affects social change. We believe God's love is initially manifest through believers who engage others in their deepest needs with service and compassion, and through that engagement, the Gospel is shared -- through the power of the Cross we see lives changed and families saved, who then see their life trajectory radically transformed.

Address Adult & Family Issues

Many adults and families survive on the streets under a dark cloud of addiction and/or poverty with few options to escape their circumstances. Our Zona Norte team partners with various public and private services to help adults transition into drug rehabilitation or find productive avenues to find employment to rise above persistent poverty. Stories from the Streets

One of the girls with Maya is Maria (alias), a 10-year-old from Zona Norte. She has head lice, can't read or write, and frequents the education program at our community center. Maya located her homeless mother to discuss getting Maria and her brother into a children's home, but the mother backed out after initially agreeing and all the paperwork was prepared. Maya then attempted to enroll Maria in school, but without her mother's support, she's unlikely to stay in education.
The Lord sends children like Maria to us, and our community center provides education and nutrition for these street kids. We're collaborating with shelters, children's homes, and government agencies to expand avenues to get these kids off the streets. Please pray for us to continue being a vital resource in Zona Norte, guided and protected by God.
